MICROTURN-L is an ultra precision fine turning machine in a unique design to produce workpieces at the highest level.

The highly precise motorised spindle moving on an X/Z axis is the heart of the repeatability to achieve the highest accuracies.

In front of the spindle is a linear tool carrier for holding fixed precision turning tools for fine turning. In addition to turning tools, other units such as grinding spindles, deep-hole drilling devices or grippers can also be mounted on this for integrated automation.

All linear and rotary axes have direct measuring systems.

Between the two spindles are three different tool carriers:

MICROTURN-LTBS Ultra-Precision Turn-Mill-Center is a combination between a submicron precision lathe and a 5-axis Machining Center in unique design to produce highest level of workpieces in one operation only. The two opposite identical turning spindles moving in X/Z-axis are the heard of the precision repeatability for reaching closest tolerances. In between the two spindles are three tool holding devices such as

  • Gang-type fixed table to wear fixed precision turning tools for submicron turning
  • Turret with Y-axis in the bottom of working area for universal apllications0 Milling spindle with tool changer, B-axis and Y-axis in upper working area for Turn-Mill applications with up to 72 tools
  • All linear and rotative axis with linear scales.

Microturn Grind

Ultra-precision Turn-Mill Center with grinding spindles

MICROTURN-GRIND is the first true combination of an ultraprecision hard turning machine and an internal and external grinding machine. With the MICROTURN-GRIND, you can not only fine-turn your workpieces with high precision in the hard condition (heat-treated), but also grind them using a 400 mm external grinding wheel and up to two high-performance internal grinding spindles. By using such a machine, you minimise stock oversizes required for grinding, reduce cycle times and optimise accuracies.

Hard machining of threads, recesses and contours is also possible thanks to the machine's full turning functionality with up to 10,000 rpm on the workpiece spindle or grinding of non-circular polygon shapes thanks to high-precision C-axis interpolation of the workpiece at creep speed.

The indexing turret mounted at the bottom of the work area allows high-precision soft and hard turning of internal and external contours on both spindle 1 and spindle 2. Milling operations with live tools and Y-axis are also possible, e.g. for soft and hard milling of surfaces, keyways and other contour elements - all during the same operation.
