Maintaining Wire EDM Precision With Fluctuating Shop Temps

Heat is the enemy of accuracy and fluctuating shop temps throughout the day can wreck havoc on accuracy and repeatability. In fact, temperature variation is the number one enemy when high accuracy is expected.
 
AgieCharmilles combats this issue by utilizing a polymer granite base which offers a 6x reduction in vibration and offers 20x thermal stability compared to cast iron. Additionally, Thermal regulation can be integrated to maintain temperature consistently within a 0.2 °C even in the most unstable workshops. Accuracy and repeatability remain at the highest level.

Our latest IPG-DPS Direct Power Supply places part of the generator directly behind the worktank by positioning the generator behind the work tank, the reduced distance between the power source and the sparking zone allows a much smaller impedance of the electrical circuit.
 
Less noise means better, faster and more accurate monitoring of your sparking process which results in better gap width control, better respect of geometry and surfaces, no wire breakage and faster cutting speed.
 
iWire
 
iWire module detects the height variation of the work piece profile and consequently adapts the wire spool unwinding speed. This is especially effective in workpieces with high variation of height and when upper and lower heads cannot work close to the workpiece surface.
